WISE - - Sophomore Karley Allen has been named Daktronics First-Team Atlantic Region outside hitter. A Lanexa, Virginia native, Allen led the Mountain East Conference in kills/set at 4.19 while finishing with 394 total kills.  Her 394 kills are the third most in any single-season in UVa-Wise history.

Allen added 3.71 digs per set to rank sixth in the MEC as she earned First-Team All-MEC honors as well. Through two seasons, Allen has tallied 780 kills and 658 digs and is on pace to become the first Cavalier to post 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. 

Her 4.19 kills per set ranked 13th nationally and led the Atlantic Region as she was the only non Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference player to be a First-Team Atlantic Region selection.

Allen aided UVa-Wise to a 14-14 record, the school's first .500 or better record since the 2007 season. In those 28 matches, she recorded a team-high 15 double-doubles.

She is the first student-athlete at UVa-Wise to earn all-region status since the school left the NAIA.
