WISE - - Fans attending Saturday's game will not only see the first Mountain East Conference game in school history, they will also receive a free t-shirt and "Cavalier Cookies." A tradition that started this fall with the first MEC home contest in each sport will continue throughout the academic year as the athletic department celebrates the inaugural MEC season.
Additionally, any time the Cavaliers score 90 or more points in a home game this season, everyone in attendance will receive a free biscuit from Uncle Freds Gas Grub 'N Suds the following morning.

The game will feature two schools who are going through massive change in early in the season.  UVa-Wise has just one senior on its roster while also featuring seven freshman and two sophomores.  Urbana University is adjusting to first year coach Kristina Danella.  Danella took the reigns of the program earlier this month when former Blue Knights' floor general Danny Wingate departed the program.  Danella is eight months removed from playing collegiate basketball at NCAA Division I Marist College where she posted 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds a game.

Despite the changes in both programs, each school is off to a good start.  UVa-Wise (3-0) has yet to lose and Urbana (1-1) already has an 83-63 victory over Slippery Rock under its belt.  Thus far, the Blue Knights have been led by DeVonyea Johnson who is averaging 19.5 points and six rebounds per contest.  Teammate Kennedy Boggs has added 28 points in Urbana's first two games.

The Cavaliers are undefeated in large part due to the team's defense and its ability to get to the free throw line.  UVa-Wise leads the MEC in
scoring defense at 57.7 points per game and free throw attempts per game at 30.  Coach Kunzman's club ranks second in field goal
percentage defense (33.5 percent) and 3-point field goal defense (20.3 percent).
