The University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics

Baltimore, Maryland native Rod White Jr. will return for his second season coaching defensive backs for the Cavaliers in 2015. The former West Liberty University defensive back was a three-year letter winner for the Hilltoppers and served as team captain during his junior and senior seasons. 

In his first season, UVa-Wise picked off nine passes and posted 45 break ups. The first-year coach also placed a player on the All-MEC team.

White earned defensive player of the week honors during his career and led West Liberty in interceptions as a senior.  The assistant also spends time as a personal trainer and in that capacity he has worked with numerous collegiate football players.

In addition to his work with the secondary, White works assists in game day preparations, player development, and recruitment of future student-athletes.

White obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from West Liberty University in 2013.
