Quintin Hunter is in his third season as the wide receivers coach at UVA Wise. Last season, Caleb Martin had a breakout campaign under Hunter’s tutelage as the receiver hauled in 22 catches for 261 yards and four touchdowns in the abbreviated three-game schedule.

In his first season, three different receivers caught at least 18 passes, including Jamal Fisher who finished with a 26 catches in just seven games.

Previously, Hunter spent five seasons at nearby Emory and Henry College.

Hunter was a three-year letterman on the gridiron for James Madison University after transferring from the University of Virginia following his freshman season before beginning his coaching career.

At Emory and Henry, Hunter spent three seasons as the Wasps’ running back coach where he aided an offensive attack that averaged 190 yards per game on the ground and 4.7 yards per carry. Under his watch as running backs coach, a pair of student-athletes garnered all-conference honors.

Hunter then made the move to offensive coordinator where Emory and Henry averaged over 32 points and 420 yards per game during his two seasons in the position. A year ago, the Wasps tallied 37.3 points per game after averaging 472 yards a contest during the 2017 campaign.

The coach completed his bachelor’s degree in sport management from James Madison University in 2013.
