Peter Hartley will be entering his second season with the Cavaliers. He will serve as the Running Back’s Coach and the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Cavs football program.
Before his arrival at UVA-Wise after having spent last season at Quincy University as the Running Backs Coach under Coach Gary Bass.
At Quincy, Hartley had three standout Running Backs in Team Dollard, JQ Brown, and Jadon Washington. The Hawks led the GLVC in rushing and were ranked 24th in the nation in rushing. Teon Dollard was recognized as 2nd team All-GLVC and JQ Brown was Honorable Mentioned. The Hawks finished the 2023 season with 2,227 yards rushing and 33 touchdowns.
Prior to Quincy, Hartley spent two seasons at Wabash College where he coached the Running Backs under Coach Don Morel.
While at Wabash, Hartley coached Running Back Donovan Snyder, who earned First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference in 2021 and posted five 100-yard rushing performances. In 2022, Snyder was named Third Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference in an offense that was statistically the most efficient in the school’s history.
Prior to Wabash College, Hartley was the Special Teams Coordinator and Running Back Coach for DePaul College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, under Coach Mike Passarella.
Hartley was a part of the Purdue Football team in 2013 as a Running Back. He graduated from the University in 2017.
Hartley is from Indianapolis, IN and currently lives in Wise.
