Joseph Czelusniank is in his fourth season at UVA Wise and his second as the wide receivers coach.
In 2022, 17 different Cavaliers hauled in at least one reception with three finishing with over 400 receiving yards.
While serving as the program’s running backs coach, Jaevon Gillespie earned second-team all-conference honors after averaging five yards per carry and rushing for eight touchdowns.
In a shortened spring season in 2021 due to COVID, UVA Wise rushed for 325 yards in three games with four backs having over 50 rushing yards.
Czelusniank came to the college after completing his playing career at Alderson Broaddus where he served as team captain as a senior.
During his career, Czelusniank set six single-season and two career records for the Battlers. Over his junior and senior seasons, the quarterback passed for 37 touchdowns, ran for five more and passed for 4,708 yards while completing 55 percent of his passes.
Czelusniank graduated with dual degrees in business administration and sport management.
