The University of Virginia's College at Wise Athletics

Jon Davis is in his first season at UVA Wise, serving as the program’s defensive line coach. A five-year coaching veteran, Davis most recently served as the defensive line coach and run game coordinator at Lithia Springs High Schools (Ga.). In that role, he helped develop a quartet of all-region selections as the team boasted the region’s third-ranked defense in points allowed (19.6). The accomplishments allowed the coach to be named Georgia 5A Defensive Line Coach of the Year.

Prior to his time at Lithia Springs, Davis was co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Woodland High School(Ga.). In that role, he oversaw a defense that allowed just 13.7 points per game in 2021. Earlier in his career, the coach worked at Riverdale High School (Ga.) where the school made three consecutive playoff appearances, including a regional title in 2020.

Davis began his coaching career at Louisiana Christian University where he was the school’s defensive tackles coach. Three student-athletes earned all-conference acclaim under Davis’ tutelage at this stop.

Davis earned a bachelor of science in accounting from Jacksonville State University in 2014 before earning a M.A.T. in physical education from Georgia College & State University.
