In 2015, John Kuczko will return for his 19th season as an assistant coach for the UVa-Wise football program.  This season, Kuczko will serve as the team's running backs coach after spending the last five years as the defensive line coach.

During his tenure, the veteran coach has worn many hats, including a two-year stint as the school's defensive coordinator.

As coordinator, Kuczko saw the defense make remarkable strides in his first season. The highlight of Kuczko's tenure as defense coordinator came when the unit forced back-to-back shutouts in victories over Newport News Apprentice and West Virginia Tech.

Prior to becoming defensive coordinator, Kuczko served as the program's defensive line coach from 1997-2007. Throughout his tenure, he has also played an integral part of the recruiting process.
