Jarrod Buckley

Coach Buckley is in his first season as an assistant on the UVA-Wise football staff, and he will coach the Defensive Line. He comes to UVA-Wise most recently after spending the 2020 through 2024 seasons as Defensive Quality Control Coach at West Virginia University, where, in 2024, he worked with the Outside Linebackers. In his 5 seasons with the Mountaineers he spent time around multiple future NFL draft picks and made 4 bowl appearances. Including wins in the 2020 Liberty Bowl and 2023 Dukes Mayo Bowl. Buckley is a graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in Coaching Performance Science.

Before Coaching at West Virginia University, Buckley coached at Alderson Broaddus University in 2019 as Offensive Quality Control and was elevated to Running Backs Coach.  While there he helped the Battlers by playing a large role in the implementation of run game schemes, and also organized recruiting areas as well as organizing transportation on official visits.  

Prior to Alderson Broaddus University, Buckley a California native coached at a number of high school programs in the Central Valley area from 2009 to 2017 working in multiple roles during that time. He helped lead multiple top passing offenses, and playoff appearances in the state of California. In his final stop at Thomas Downey High School he was a part of the Knights 5 conference Championships from 2013-2017.
