Ed Collins

Coach Collins is in his first season as an assistant on the UVA-Wise football staff. He will coach the wide receivers. He comes to UVA-Wise most recently after spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons as the wide receivers coach at Wayne State University, where, in 2024, he coached one wide receiver to All-Conference honors.

Before coaching at Wayne State University, Collins coached at a number of high school programs in the Atlanta area from 2019 to 2022. He played collegiately at Georgia Southern University from 2011 to 2015 and graduated with his B.A. in Communications. While a member of the GSU football program, the Eagles won three conference championships and the 2015 GoDaddy Bowl.

Prior to Georgia Southern University, Collins attended Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. At Brookwood High School, he was a two-year letter winner on the football team, which won the 2010 Class 5A State Championship.
