Biography

2019-2020: Finished with 8 strikeouts, earning a season-high 3 against Paine on February 3rd. Posted an impeccable 1.00 fielding percentage.

2018-2019: Had a season-high 3 strikeouts against Virginia State on March 2nd. Finished with a 5.27 ERA and a 1.00 fielding percentage.
 
Prior to UVA Wise: Attended Perquimans County High School, participating in baseball, cross country, and soccer, and receiving multiple honors in baseball. Chose UVA Wise over one other school, because of the “atmosphere” and welcoming coaches.
 
Personal: The son of Randy and Tina Mathis. Has one younger sibling, Tiffany. Enjoys fishing and hunting in spare time. Majoring in Business and minoring in Sports Management.
