2019-2020: Finished with a 0.00 ERA, striking out 2 in 3 innings of play, both strikeouts coming against Mars Hill on February 22nd.

2018-2019: Finished with 5 strikeouts, a 5.14 ERA, and a perfect 1.00 fielding percentage.
 
2017-2018: Finished with 4 strikeouts and a 6.43 ERA.
 
Prior to UVA Wise: Played baseball at Liberty High School. Chose UVA Wise over one other school, citing the “beautiful campus and small class sizes.”
 
Personal: Son of Reginald and Marlene Wertz. Has two older siblings: Matthew and Brandie. Enjoys fishing, swimming, playing video games and basketball, riding dirt bikes, and watching movies in spare time. Majoring in Sports Management.
