GAME ONE – Ferrum 5, UVA Wise 4
- UVA Wise faced Ferrum in a close contest that needed an extra inning to determine a victor. In the bottom of the second,
Jaden Ruehling earned a walk, setting the stage for
Dane Frellick to hit a two-run homer to center field, giving the Cavaliers a 2-1 lead.
- Ferrum answered back in the third inning, scoring two runs. A wild pitch allowed Tyler Mason to score, followed by an RBI single from Niko Papathanasiou, which put the Panthers ahead 3-2.
- In the seventh inning, the Highland Cavaliers tied the game.
Luke Johnson drew a walk and subsequently scored on a two-run homer by
Drew Knight, leveling the score at 4-4.
- Ferrum regained the lead in the eighth inning. Smith Dickinson walked and advanced to third, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly by Garrett Pancione, making it 5-4.
- The Cavs were unable to respond in the bottom of the eighth, and the game concluded with Ferrum securing a 5-4 victory.

Tyler Gorbett pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, including a home run, while striking out 5 and walking 3, throwing a total of 72 pitches. Jack Wuerdeman contributed 1 inning of relief, giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 1.

- UVA Wise took an early lead in the first inning when
Jake Smith doubled to right center and scored on
Joshua Morgan's double down the left field line, giving the home team a 1-0 advantage.
- In the second inning, the Cavaliers extended their lead. After
Hayden Stasuk walked and
Dalton Chapman reached on a fielder's choice, Smith doubled again, moving Chapman to third. Morgan walked to load the bases. A wild pitch allowed Chapman to score, and
Drew Knight followed with a two-RBI single to right field, bringing home Smith and Morgan.
- Ferrum responded in the third inning. Deiondre Seigla walked, and Tyler Mason hit a two-run homer to right field. Later,
Gage Miller singled to first base, driving in CJ Kemmerer, who had advanced to third on a groundout, narrowing the gap.
- The Cavaliers added a run in the fifth inning.
Andrew Hardy walked and advanced to third on a passed ball and a single by Stasuk. Chapman's sacrifice fly to center field scored Hardy.
- Ferrum cut into the lead in the sixth with a double by Jachob Walters that scored Jayden Singleton, making it a one-run game.
- In the seventh inning, the Panthers took the lead. CJ Kemmerer bunted for a single and scored on Miller's two-run homer to left field.
- The game concluded with Ferrum securing a narrow 6-5 victory over the Highland Cavaliers.

Logan Delph pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing three earned runs on one hit while issuing four walks and one home run.
Gabe Gowder contributed 4 1/3 innings in relief, striking out six batters and allowing three earned runs on four hits, including one home run.
Sawyer Patrick made a brief appearance, retiring the only batter he faced with a strikeout in 0 1/3 innings. Despite the combined efforts of the pitching staff, the three home runs allowed were a critical factor in the game.

Jake Smith recorded two doubles and scored twice, leading the team's offensive charge. Morgan contributed significantly with a two-run double, adding a walk and a hit by pitch to reach base twice. Knight also drove in two runs, tallying a hit and a walk. On the mound, Gowder struck out six over 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and one home run.
