HOW IT HAPPENED
- Limestone grabbed the early six point lead and increased it to ten points midway through the first quarter. A pair of Cavalier three pointers from Makenzie Bremer and Macie Ridge helped cut the lead to six at the end of the quarter.
- The Cavs cut the lead to one possession multiple times in the second quarter before tying the game at 30-30 on a Sable Burnside jumper with 32 seconds left. The Saints held the ball for the final shot, and hit one with four seconds left to take the two point lead into halftime.
- A Burnside three-pointer and Bremer free throw gave the Cavs the lead to open the second half. The rest of the quarter was back-and-forth, with nine lead changes and five ties.
- UVA Wise extended their lead to eight points with 6:17 left in regulation, and held the lead despite several Saint runs until the late free throw by Limestone tied the game at 74-74 with 19 second left. The Cavs had a open shot with three seconds left hit the front of the rim, and the game went to overtime. UVA Wise went ice cold offensively in the overtime, and Limestone took advantage with an 11-0 run. They then kept the Cavs at bay and went on to claim the 87-79 win.
- Reagan Kargo led the Saints with 24 points, and three other Limestone players scored in double figures.
