WISE – The UVA Wise women's basketball team were unable to overcome a cold shooting spell in the fourth quarter, and Lincoln Memorial used the drought to come back and sneak out of Wise with the 55-53 South Atlantic Conference win Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cavs took the lead and used a run to pull out to a twelve point lead late in the first quarter.
- They extended the lead to 15 via a
Macie Ridge pull up jumper with 9:28 left in the half, but the Railsplitters used some key three-pointers to cut the lead to six at the half.
- LMU opened the third quarter with five unanswered points, and took their first lead of the game with 5:59 left in the quarter. The teams traded baskets over the rest of the period, with a three-pointer by
Ella Karst giving the Cavs the 45-42 lead heading into the final frame.
- Both teams went cold in the fourth quarter, but the Cavs were scoreless for over five minutes and LMU took advantage to take the four point lead. Back to back baskets by Karst and
Caroline Mullins tied the game back up and another Mullins basket put the Cavs ahead 53-51 with 1:58 left. LMU scored on their next possession, and later scored again with a little over a minute left to take the 55-53 lead. The Cavs were unable to score in the final minute, and LMU escaped with the victory.
- Three LMU players scored in double figures.
GETTING WISE

Sable Burnside had 15 points to lead the Cavs, she also had four rebounds and two blocks.

Ella Karst scored eleven points and had two steals.

Caroline Mullins, and
Emilea Preece also had four rebounds apiece.
