LAKELAND, FL -- #25 Lubbock Christian used a blistering long-range attack to defeat UVA Wise Saturday afternoon as they hit 11 three-pointers to help the Chaparrals take the 90-52 win in the Small College Football Hall of Fame Classic.
This was the opening game of the college basketball season for the NCAA Division II and the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UVA Wise faced a challenging start as Lubbock Christian quickly built a 10-2 lead, with Leo Nordberg contributing a 3-pointer at the 16:19 mark. Lubbock Christian's Alex Anamekwe added to their advantage with a dunk at 13:16, extending the lead to 21-4. The Cavs made a comeback to cut into the lead with threes by
Patrick Shelley and
Yoro Diallo, along with baskets by
Evan Ramsey and
Kam Roberts. UVA Wise closed the half with a 5-1 run but trailed 42-24 by the half's end.
- Lubbock Christian built on their lead in the second half, as they outscored UVA Wise by a 48-28 margin. Despite efforts from the Highland Cavaliers, including a timely layup by Roberts and a three-pointer from
Hensley Ward near the end, Lubbock Christian's offensive efficiency kept them ahead as they went on for the 90-52 victory.

- Diallo recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in his first game in a UVA Wise uniform, leading the team on the boards and adding two steals.

Anderson Cummins tallied five points and distributed three assists, adding four rebounds to his performance.
- Five Chaps had double figures in scoring, led by Anton Pusateri and Amo Miller Jr. with 19 points apiece. The duo also led on the boards with Pusateri's 13 rebounds and Miller's nine. Alex Anamekwe had 18 points, including four treys. Kendall Dow and Luc Mercandino had eleven points each.
