MARS HILL, N.C. – The UVA Wise lacrosse team used a 16-0 start to cruise to the 19-2 win over Mars Hill Saturday afternoon at Meares Stadium.
Noley Hiller led all scorers with a hat trick, while six other players had two goals apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Highland Cavaliers shot out to the 8-0 lead after one quarter on the back of Hiller's three goals, two goals each by
Abby Stoffelen and
Logen Davis, and a goal by
Issie Brown.
- Quarter number two would see the Cavs continue their domination as they scored six goals, including a pair from
Ella Creagh, to take the 14-0 halftime lead.
- Mars Hill would get on the scoreboard after UVA Wise scored two more goals in the third with the goal from Haley Stallings midway through the period.
Macey Hatfield would notch a goal late in the quarter to put the lead up to 17-1.
- MHU's Madison Welch would score the final goal by the Lions and the Cavs would add two insurance goals to close out the game with the 19-2 total.
GETTING WISE
- Hiller led with three goals and has scored seven goals in the past two games.
- Stoffelen, Davis, Creagh, Brown,
Taylor Willinghan, and Grace Gollatt each had two goals apiece.

Olivia Toomer picked up the win as she played the first three quarters, allowing only one goal and having one save.
Addie Donalson played the fourth quarter and allowed only one goal.
- UVA Wise out shot the Lions 29-4 and also went 20-21 in clears for the game.
- The win moves UVA Wise to sixth place in the South Atlantic Conference standings with four games remaining on the schedule.

UVA Wise will travel to Limestone for a Wednesday matchup with the Saints. First draw is set for 4:00 pm in Gaffney, S.C. Their next home game is next Saturday, when Lincoln Memorial makes the trip up Powell Valley to face the Cavs in their penultimate home contest. First draw for that game is at 1:00 pm on the Beaty-Richmond Field at Carl Smith Stadium.
