WISE – Six players had multiple goals Wednesday afternoon as the UVA Wise lacrosse team cruised to the 18-2 South Atlantic Conference win over Southwest Virginia rival Emory & Henry at Beaty-Richmond Field at Carl Smith Stadium.
This was the first meeting between the two schools as Emory & Henry are in their inaugural season of women's lacrosse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Highland Cavaliers scored six goals in the first quarter as they out-shot the Wasps 15-2 in the period.
- UVA Wise continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter as they took 10 shots to 1 from Emory & Henry, scoring 7 goals from the 10 shots to take the 13-0 lead at the half.
- The Cavs would score three more times in the third period before the Wasps got on the scoreboard with the goal from Mina Hicks. UVA Wise would then roll off two more goals to increase the lead to 18-1.
- Only one goal was scored by either team in the fourth quarter as Hicks scored her second goal and the second goal for the Wasps as the Cavs then controlled the clock and went on to the 18-2 victory.

Noley Hiller picked up the haul for the second time this season as she led all players with four goals.

Grace Golatt and
Mallory Trimble each had a hat trick, with Golatt also making two assists and winning five draws.

Ella Creagh had a season-high two goals off the bench.

Kaylea Paterson led all players with three ground balls.

Addie Donalson combined for the win with a total of three saves.
- UVA Wise out-shot the Wasps by a 37-8 margin for the game.
