WISE – The UVA Wise men's basketball team broke open a close game late in the first half and used a second half surge to take the 103-73 South Atlantic Conference win over Mars Hill Wednesday evening on the Quillen Court.
The win, along with Monday's 108-56 win over Carolina Christian, marks the first time since November 2017 that UVA Wise has broken the century mark in back to back games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams traded baskets over the balance of the first half, which featured ten ties and twelve lead changes. A 10-2 run late in the half sparked by a
Max Lidman jump shot pulled the Cavs ahead 42-35. They extended the lead down the stretch, with
Kolier Pruett putting them ahead 50-29 with a three-pointer at the buzzer.
- The Lions cut never get closer than ten in the early part of the second half before going on a run to take the 86-60 lead with 5:02 remaining. They would extend the lead to as much as 32 points before coasting to the 103-73 victory.
- Kory Davis led three Lions who scored in double digits with his 19 point outing. He also led the team in assists with four. Blair Crutcher scored 14 points, while Kadyn Dawkins had eleven.
GETTING WISE
- Dean led all scorers with 24 points. He also had seven assists.
- Four other Cavs scored in double figures, led by
Evan Ramsey's 19 points.
Lav Cvetkovic' chipped in 17 points,
Zy'Ever Wingfield scored 15, and
Max Lidman had 10 points.
- Wingfield led all players with nine rebounds, while
Calen Lightford had a game-high eight assists.
- The team shot a season high 62.9% from the field while holding the Lions to 47.1%. They also tied a season-high 88.9% from the free throw line, going 16-18.
