WISE – Visiting Coker University used a late first half run to take the nine point halftime lead and held off the Highland Cavaliers in the second half in a 103-93 win Saturday afternoon in the David J. Prior Convocation Center.
It was the home opener for the Cavs after playing their first four games of the season on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Glenn Bynum scored back to back three-pointers for the Cobras to open the game, UVA Wise came back to take a one-point lead on a three-pointer by
Lav Cvetkovic'. The teams then traded baskets and swapped the lead for several minutes before the Cavs used a pair of three-pointers by
Bradley Dean and a basket by Cvetkovic' gave the Cavs a 25-18 lead with 11:53 left in the half. A few minutes later the Cobras took a small lead, only to see UVA Wise cut it back to one. Coker then scored eight unanswered points to take a nine point lead, which they held at the half.
- Coker opened up the second half with five quick points to extend the lead to 60-46. The Cavs would cut the lead to eight on numerous occasions down the stretch but were unable to get any closer as the Cobras held on for the 103-93 win.
- Jamie Muldowney led five Cobra Players who scored in double-figures as he had 21 points. Max Hurray had 18 points, Bynum added in 16, Ian Blue 13, and Sebastian Cole had 11 points.
- Judson Coan and Xavier Harris each had 7 rebounds apiece. Cole and Harris also had six assists apiece.
GETTING WISE
- Cvetkovic' led the Cavs in scoring with a career-high 25 points.
Zy'Ever Wingfield added in 24 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while Dean had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Patrick Shelley also had six assists to lead the team along with Dean as well as ten rebounds.
- As a team, UVA Wise had one of their better shooting performances of the season, hitting 49.3% of their shots.
UP NEXT
UVA Wise will host Catawba in a pre-Thanksgiving SAC contest Tuesday evening in the Prior Center.
Catawba enters the game with a 3-2 record and are 1-1 in the SAC after defeating Carson-Newman 86-76 earlier today in Jefferson City.
Tip-off for Tuesday's game is set for 7:30 p.m.
