The teams would trade baskets down the stretch, with the Cavs holding the 32-31 lead at the half.
- The teams traded baskets for the first few minutes of the third quarter until a Macie Ridge layup sparked a run that gave UVA Wise the 46-35 lead with 6:05 remaining in the quarter. Then it was the Tornado's turn to make a big run as they cut the lead back to 52-51 to end the period.
- Four points by Caroline Mullins and an Allyson Fleenor three-pointer put the Cavs ahead 59-51 with 8:42 left in the game.
