HICKORY, N.C. - - Emily Harman scored 21 points and dished out 12 assists as Lenoir-Rhyne scored a 76-68 South Atlantic Conference basketball victory over UVA Wise at Shuford Arena Saturday afternoon. The win was the third consecutive for the Bears and allowed the program to snap what was a five-game losing skid to the Cavaliers.
LR (10-4, 5-1 SAC) led by as many as 13 points in the first half but, Grahm Smith's team would have to work to fend off UVA Wise (6-7, 2-4 SAC).
By halftime, the visitors had trimmed the 13-point lead to three at 38-35. Jamie Cluesman's team closed the opening 20 minutes on a 12-to-2 scoring spurt over the final 4:11 of the half.
The run included a pair of 3-pointers from Caitlyn Ross and four of Katlin Burger's 20 points in the game.
Ross put together yet another impressive scoring day as the fifth-year finished 10-of-12 from the floor en route to a game-high 21 points. It marked the seventh consecutive game the guard has scored 15 or more points.
UVA Wise would have numerous chances in the second half to take the lead but, LR fended off every opportunity.
The Cavs tied the game on the opening possession of the second half on a 3-pointer from Ross.
After a Ross steal on the ensuing Bears' possession, the Cavs had a chance to take their first lead since the opening quarter. In what was the story of the second half, it would go by the wayside. UVA Wise would turn the ball over and after forcing an empty LR possession, Cluesman's crew would turn the ball over again.

Over the game's final 10 minutes, UVA Wise would have two more opportunities to go on top but would be unable to do so.
LR closed the contest on an 18-to-12 run to claim the league triumph.
