WISE, VA — The Cavaliers are set to host the Mars Hill Lions and the Tusculum Pioneers in a South Atlantic Conference saga on Friday, Sep. 9 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, Sep. 10 at 2:00 PM.
UVA Wise is looking to secure their first conference win of the season after taking a 3-0 (19-25, 21-25, 15-25) loss to the Emory & Henry Wasps on Tuesday, Sep. 6. The Cavs currently sit at a 3-2 overall record with an 0-1 showing in conference.
Sophomore Kaylee Scarce's well-roundedness on the court proves to be the Cavalier's unquestionable weapon. Scarce has racked up a team-leading 50 kills on the season and has also snagged a leading 28 digs in their five matches.
In addition, junior Cassidy Farley at the net has been significant in the Cavs campaign, ranking first on the team in total blocks with 13.
MARS HILL NOTES:
The Mars Hill Lions have not lost a match yet in the 2022 season, with their first conference win against Tusculum in a 3-2 battle on Tuesday, Sep. 6.
In the 2022 SAC Preseason Poll, the Lions were ranked 6th out of 13 teams in the conference.

TUSCULUM NOTES:
The Tusculum Pioneers have had the exact opposite fate of the Lions as of Sep. 8, losing all five matches thus far in the 2022 season. They currently sit 0-1 in conference play.
In the 2022 SAC Preseason Poll, the Pioneers were ranked 2nd overall out of 13 teams.
