WISE, VA — Six UVA Wise student-athletes were named to the 2021-22 VaSID Academic All-State Team, the VaSID organization announced on Friday.

In total, there were 37 schools represented and 222 student-athletes honored.

Honorees have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and are sophomores or higher.

From UVA Wise, four cross country athletes made the cut (Chase Templeton, Haley Sykes, Kaley Sykes, Lexie Rhoton) as well as women's basketball player Mackenzie King and softball player Kara Long.
