WISE – UVA Wise Director of Athletics Kendall Rainey has announced the hiring of Kari Ham as the Director of Digital Media for Athletics.

"We are very happy to welcome Kari to our UVA Wise team! Her experience as a collegiate student-athlete informs her creativity and vision and she is a great fit for our program," said Rainey.

Ham is no stranger to the South Atlantic Conference and has several years of experience working with athletic digital media, both as an undergraduate and graduate student. She graduated from Tusculum University in 2024 and was a goalkeeper on the women's lacrosse team during her time there. After graduation she served as a graduate student in the Sports Information / Athletic Communications departments at both Quincy University and Tusculum, graduating from TU with a Master of Sport Management degree in May of 2026.

While a GA, she was a lead graphic designer while also handling social media and photography for the department. She also helped the Pioneers increase their audience engagement on social media by over 130% during her time at Tusculum.

She also has been a successful freelance photographer, taking athletic photos and senior portraits for numerous other institutions and individuals.

At Wise, her responsibilities will include overseeing the department's photographic needs and social media accounts. She assumed her duties in early August.
