WISE, VA — The UVA Wise men's tennis team was held scoreless in their conference battle against the Mars Hill Lions today, falling 7-0.
In doubles play, Mars Hill produced a clean sweep starting with the duo of Youssef Ardouni and Faris Hadzisadikovic, who took down Cavalier duo Dominic Hoffman and Luke Jarnagin by a score of 6-1.
Next, UVA Wise's Coleton Burke and John Robert Kilgore faced Marcos Martinez and Collin Maides, but fell short by an identical score of 6-1.
Lastly in doubles, first-year duo Siddarth Selvakumar and Chiwoo Chang were put up against Omkar Moore and Chase Jorenson but could not get the job done and fell by a final score of 6-2.
The Lions kept their roll moving as Hadzisadikovic took down Hoffman in the No. 1 spot with 6-1, 6-2 scores.
Martinez and Rubio also took down their respective Cavalier opponents Jarnagin and Kilgore by scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0.
In the final two matchups, Selvakumar fell in a closer 6-2, 6-2 score by Ilija Martinovic and Chang lost to Sean Robertson by 6-1, 6-3 scores.
The loss puts the Cavaliers at an overall 5-15 record on the season.
