WISE, VA — With a short playing staff, the UVA Wise Cavaliers weren't able to put up a point against Carson-Newman and Limestone squads this weekend in conference play.
VS. CARSON-NEWMAN:
UVA Wise (5-10, 0-4 SAC) only put up a point in doubles competition, as Dominic Hoffmana and Coleton Burke fell 6-1 vs. Ids Waterbolk snd Gjorgji Jankulovski. Marc Janse and Lars Hordijk of the Eagles took a 6-0 win against Luke Jarnagin and John Robert Kilgore in the No. 2 spot, and Carson Newman took the No. 3 spot win by default due to a UVA Wise no player.
In singles play, Marnix Van Dalen blanked Hoffman by scores of 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 spot and Rintaro Oka took down Jarnagin by the same scores.
Janse and Burke faced off in the second singles matchup, and the Cavalier fell 8-1.
Jankulovski faced John Robert Kilgore and Carson-Newman came out on top, 8-0.
Hordijk and Dylan Galenksi squared up at the No. 5 spot, and Galenski fell 6-1, 6-0.
Finally, Carson-Newman secured a win by default due to a no player in the No. 6 Singles.
AT LIMESTONE
The following day, the Cavaliers traveled to Gaffney, S.C. to face the Limestone Saints (5-5, 2-3 SAC).
The Cavaliers were held scoreless in doubles play, as Emilio Samhan and Luis Yanine of the Saints defeated Hoffman and Galenski 6-0.
Jarnagin and Burke fell to Andres Cortes and Andre Zamorano to the same score.
In the final doubles match, Christian and Sebastian Rogerson of Limestone took a no-player win by default.
UVA Wise wouldn't be able to snag a win in singles matchups against the Saints on the day.
