CLEVELAND, Tenn. - - Host Lee ended UVA Wise's season opening two-game winning streak with an 18-7 NCAA Division II non-conference women's lacrosse triumph.

SLOW START HAMPERS CAVS

Ellie Earnshaw scored unassisted to give UVA Wise a 1-0 lead in the first period before Lee rattled off five consecutive goals to take a 5-1 lead. It would be a lead the Flames would never relinquish.

GETTING CLOSE

The Cavaliers would get to as close as 6-4 when Sydney Trask scored unassisted with 4:40 to play in the first half to cap a 3-to-1 scoring run by the visitors.

PUTTING IT AWAY

Lee put the contest away with a seven goal third period en route to the running clock win.

BOX SCORE NUGGETS

Trask recorded a hat trick for UVA Wise but, Meghan Dennehy's squad lost the draw control battle 19-to-9 as Lee had four players score at least three goals, led by Brittney White's four goal night.
