AN 8-0 START
Sunday's game was over almost as quick as it began thanks to a fast start by the visitors. UVA Wise scored the first eight goals of the game as Katie Allen and Sydney Trask scored a pair of goals each to stake their team to the early lead.
Alexis Mount found the back of the net with 6:41 to play for Shorter's first goal of the day only to see Abby Stoffelen counter with a goal for the Cavs to send the game to halftime at 9-1.
RUNNING CLOCK
A Stoffelen goal at the 13:26 mark of the third quarter gave her club an 11-1 lead and forced a running clock that would last for the duration of the game. UVA Wise would lead by as many as 14 goals over the course of the game before eventually settling for the 13-goal triumph.
