ANDERSON, N.C. — UVA Wise were unable to recover today against a .650 hitting percentage performance in the third set from the Trojans, resulting in a 3-0 loss (18-25, 7-25, 17-25).

The first set saw a back-and-forth run for the Cavs (4-12, 1-11 SAC) and the Trojans (15-4, 9-3 SAC) before a few Cavalier miscues pushed Anderson ahead, 17-14. The Trojans struggled in the serving department as they netted four to give the Cavs momentum, but the momentum was short lived as Noelle Knutsen and Jenna Long combined for the last three kills of the set to grab a 25-18 win.

In the second, Anderson held the Cavs to only seven points, with their squad crawling to a 16-2 lead.

In the third, the Cavs struggled after Brantley Chipley of Anderson rallied up a six-point run to get the Trojans ahead 17-10. Cassidy Farley and Kinley Norris put up a good fight with a kill each soon after, but Chipley took the set into her own hands and solidified the 25-17 defeat.

In the third, Morgan Blankenship put up three kills in the 25-17 defeat. The Cavs held their lead until a Kaitlyn Barrett kill forced a four-point run that gave Anderson the push they needed in the win.

Morgan Blankenship added in a team-high five kills in the match while Farley put up three blocks.
