CHARLOTTE, N.C. - - No. 6 Queens University of Charlotte rattled off 15 consecutive goals en route to a 23-5 South Atlantic Conference women's lacrosse victory over UVA Wise Saturday. The win keeps the Royals atop the league standings at a perfect 8-0 conference mark while the Cavaliers are now just a half game up on fifth place Lenoir-Rhyne.
UVA Wise (4-5, 4-3 SAC) scored first when Jesse French assisted Mallory Trimble on a woman-up goal less than five minutes into the game.
It would be a short-lived lead for the guests as Queens (10-1, 8-0 SAC) scored the next 15 goals to take full command of the contest.
Eleven Royals found the back of the net led Rachel Parrett who scored five times; Kara Blanchard also turned in a hat trick with three goals.
Trimble scored twice for the Cavs while Sydney Trask, Katie Allen and Kaila Lacey all scored a goal each.
Queens enjoyed a 31-to-11 shots on goal advantage and forced 20 UVA Wise turnovers in the win.
Next up, UVA Wise visits Tusculum Monday. First draw is set for 2 p.m.
