WISE – Men's tennis earned its second sweep of the season against Johnson University Saturday afternoon at the Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex.
At No. 1 singles for the Cavs, freshman Cleve Packer defeated his opponent, 6-2, 6-1, while junior Coleton Burke earned a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 2. Freshman Connor Giza gave up just one game to his opponent as he posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.
Sophomore Luke Jarnagin and senior John Hamilton each earned singles sweeps at the No. 4 and No. 6 spot, respectively. Freshman John Robert Kilgore defeated his opponent in a battle at No. 5 singles as Kilgore prevailed with a 6-4, 7-5 victory.
Packer and Giza secured another win at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, while Burke and Jarnagin earned a 6-0 sweep at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3, Kilgore and freshman James Srsich picked up a 6-2 win over their opponents.
Head coach Roger Whited's squad will return to action on the road tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match at Berea College.
