CENTRAL, S.C. - - Host Southern Wesleyan University completed a three-game sweep of UVa-Wise with an 8-0 win Saturday afternoon. Designated hitter Jarred Jones lined two doubles and scored twice to lead a Warriors offensive attack that tallied 11 hits in the nine inning affair.

Southern Wesleyan (6-4) jumped to an early 1-0 lead after an inning of play and never looked back. The Warriors first run of the day came on an error before the hosts scored seven times over their final three trips to the plate to claim the win.

UVa-Wise (0-6) struggled at the plate. The Cavs failed to have a runner reach third base until the ninth inning as Warriors' hurlers Josh Antwine and Cole Standifer combined to pitch a six-hitter.

Southern Wesleyan broke the game open as Julio Justo and Quinton Bent each had an RBI before Tyler Glass stole home on the backend of a double steal and Bryson Fowler lined a run scoring hit to put the game out of reach.

Freshman Bret Roberts collected two of his team's six hits in the loss.

Next  up, Hank Banner's team will head to Carson-Newman University Wednesday.
