ORLANDO, Fla. - - Nate Verst tossed a complete game two-hit shutout to lead Kentucky Wesleyan to an 11-0 win over UVa-Wise at the Russ Matt Spring Invitational Wednesday.

Kentucky Wesleyan struck for three runs in the top of the first as Josh Galvan and Adam Brown each had an RBI before the Panthers scored a third run on an error.

UVa-Wise never recovered as Verst struck out six without allowing a walk in the complete game effort.

The Cavaliers posted just two hits in defeat as Cal Bailey and Tyler Blaum had a hit each.

Kentucky Welseyan lined 12 hits, Nathan Stemle, Brown, Andrew Kirkland and Seth Campbell had two hits each in the run-rule victory.

The Cavaliers will complete their spring break trip tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against Minnesota State – Mankato.
