Box Score 2 WISE - - Concord use a pair of big opening innings en route to a doubleheader sweep of UVa-Wise at Stallard Field Saturday. The Mountain Lions scored eight runs in the first inning a 13-1 win in the opener before scoring four runs in the first inning and five runs in the fourth inning of game two en route to a 12-7 win in the finale.
Concord received homers from T.J. Brockway and Damon Frazier in the opener. Chaz Tanner was the only player for UVa-Wise to pick up two hits in the opener.
Game two saw Concord receive extra base hits from Brad Sullivan, Andy Szamski, Ryan Johnston, Brockway, Damon Frazier, and Charles Gose.
The Cavaliers got two hits each from Bill Steven and Jordan Olinger in the game two setback.
The final two games of the season are set for Sunday when the same two teams are back at it. Game one is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
