Game two became a battle of attrition. Playing its sixth game in three days, the Cavaliers were forced to pitch two positions, including catcher Ryan Dickt who pitched two plus innings of relief on Friday. Yates game-winning base hit eventually won it for UVa-Wise, but the work Lighton did after moving from the outfield to the mound was as important in the victory.

Lighton was also solid at the plate by lining four hits in six trips, he added two RBI and two runs scored. The two RBI came on a base hit to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning that tied the contest at 9-9.
Yates, Steven, Marshall, and Matthew Wright all had two hits as part of a 14-hit attack for UVa-Wise.
