WISE, Va. – Karley Allen and Erin Anderson both finished with a match-high six kills and Ashley Hooven added 15 assists, two service aces, and nine digs to lead UVa-Wise to a 3-0 (25-5, 25-6, 25-14) victory over Bluefield State College at the Prior Center on Tuesday.

In the first set, the Cavaliers jumped out to a 12-1 lead over the Blues and UVa-Wise would lead by as many as 20 points. UVa-Wise did not commit any attack errors in the first set and had a .467 hitting percentage as the team collected seven kills in 15 attacks.

The Cavs jumped out to a 13-3 advantage over the Blues in the second set en route to the 25-6 victory. Overall UVa-Wise would finish with an impressive .412 hitting percentage as the team tallied nine kills against just two errors.

In the final set, UVa-Wise jumped out to an 11-0 lead over Bluefield State. The visitors would rally back to cut the deficit to 16-8, which was the closest the set would get as UVa-Wise finished on a 7-5 run to claim the match.

As a team, UVa-Wise finished with 31 kills and 36 digs. The Cavs took advantage of 23 attack errors, five service errors, and nine reception errors in the victory.

Brittney Deveaux led the Blues with five kills, while Tyann Thomas collected eight digs.

The Cavs will travel to West Liberty, West Virginia for conference action on Friday.
