Storylines – UPike GameUVa-Wise welcomes the University of Pikeville to the Prior Center for the school's annual "Kids Day" on Wednesday.  Local kids throughout Wise County will visit the Prior to cheer on the Cavaliers while being provided free refreshments.  This is the second meeting of the year between the two schools, UPike won the first meeting 93-70 on November 29th.  The Bears are led by Khalilah Quigley who is posting a team-high 16.9 points per game. As a team, UPike is averaging 87.3 points per game and is outscoring its opponents by 16 points a game.  The Bears' win over the Cavaliers earlier this year halted a three-game winning streak UVa-Wise had in the series.
About UVa-WiseUVa-Wise is off to a 4-4 start despite playing seven of its eight games away from the Prior Center.  Most recently, the Cavaliers scored an 80-64 road victory over West Virginia Tech.  In that contest, UVa-Wise made a season-high 14 3-pointers, led by 
Blair Harding's eight.  Senior 
Katie Jo Dockery has posted back-to-back solid performances.  The former Twin Valley High School star scored a career-high 22 points at Glenville State before making four of six 3-point attempts en route to 14 points in the win at West Virginia Tech.  Sophomore 
Kayla Carey is starting to find more consistency in her game as well.  The Knoxville, Tenn. product is averaging 10.4 points per game and a team-high 7.3 rebounds a night.  She has scored in double figures three times so far this season, including in back-to-back games entering Wednesday.  This will be the first time the women's program has hosted "Kids Day", the men's team is undefeated in the annual event.
