Storylines – The West Liberty Game
UVa-Wise enters the game playing its best ball of the season.  Two weeks ago, the Cavaliers scored a 16-13 road victory over West Virginia State before giving nationally ranked Concord University one of its toughest contests of the season last Saturday. UVa-Wise trailed by just seven mid-way through the fourth quarter before the Mountain Lions scored twice late to score the 30-13 win.  West Liberty had its three game winning streak snapped at Charleston last week when the Golden Eagles posted a 42-13 win. The Hilltoppers are led by a three-headed rushing attack, Isiah Moody has the been top yardage gainer on the ground for West Liberty.  He enters Saturday's game with 369 rushing yards in seven games. Moody is posting 5.4 yards per carry.  Teammates Jeremiah Ortiz, 347 yards, and Dakota Conwell, 293 yards, also see significant carries.  Seven different players have attempted at least one pass for West Liberty this season, Conwell has attempted the most and has thrown for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns.  The signal caller is averaging 169.2 passing yards per game.

Sophomore linebacker Zack Blair continues to rank among the MEC leaders in tackles and tackles for loss. The former Skyline High School product is third in the league with 79 tackles and leads the conference in tackles for loss with 22.5.  The 22.5 stops for loss are the second most in a single-season in UVa-Wise history.  With two games to play, Blair needs four tackles for loss to equal the number Shane Kilgore posted in the 1996 season.  Coach Dino Kaklis' defense continues to improve, after holding West Virginia State to 13 points and 210 total yards of offense. Concord, the league's top ranked offense, scored 30 points and produced 370 yards of total offense at Wise a week ago. The Mountain Lions are averaging 46.3 points per game and 502.3 total yards of offense per game.
