Box Score WISE - - In the inaugural Mountain East Conference match for both schools, Fairmont State scored a 3-0 (26-24, 26-24, 25-11) victory over host UVa-Wise at the Prior Center on Friday.

Fairmont State's (11-2, 1-0 MEC) Bri Swann led all players with 15 kills while Leslie Giordon and Amber Wilson each added eight kills.  The Falcons Tiff Smathers also added a match-high 13 digs and setter Tabbie Bias a match-high 32 assists in the win.
The Cavaliers (3-9, 0-1 MEC) received 14 kills from Karley Allen and 28 assists from Veronica Sanchez.  Allen joined Brittni Altmann with a team-high nine digs in the loss. 

UVa-Wise will return to play on Saturday when the team hosts Shepherd at noon.  Prior to the start of the match, the Cavaliers will honor women in athletics who have participated in intercollegiate sports at the College.  You can watch the match live on www.uvawisecavs.com/showcase
