Cavaliers Overcome Two Set Deficit to Win First MEC Match

WISE - - The UVa-Wise women's volleyball team (5-13, 1-4 MEC) overcame a two-set deficit to reign victorious against Mountain East Conference foe Glenville State (5-10, 1-4 MEC) 3-2 (19-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-10, 15-10.
 
After committing 14 errors in the first two sets, it seemed as if things would to not be going in the Cavaliers favor. Somewhere in-between the second and third set they found themselves. Winning the final three sets in dominating fashion while committing only six more errors in the match.
 
For the Cavaliers, Karley Allen led both teams in kills for the match with 25 and also tied for the team lead in digs with 15. She was joined in double digit kills by three other teammates, Lindsey Tucker, Santana Bishop, and Erin Anderson.  Brittini Altmann added 15 digs for the Cavaliers and Jessica Henry had a match-high 54 assists.
 
Glenville State took full advantage of Cavalier errors in the first two sets but were then plagued by errors the last three sets committing 18. The Pioneers were led by senior Dejana Ludoski with 19 kills and 18 digs. Natalie Buamgartner led the team with 21 assists.
 
The Cavaliers will play again on Tuesday at 6:30pm at Bluefield State.
