WISE -- Saturday, November 8, Clinch Valley' hosted an Invitational Girl's Volleyball Tournament, at the Greer Gymnasium.
Those colleges participating were: Tusculum, Milligan, Emory and Henry, Virginia Intermont, Sullins and Clinch Valley.
Clinch Valley "Cavelets" started the morning out by defeating Tusculum, went on to defeat Milligan and then in the evening captured third place by defeating Virginia Intermont 15 to 11 and 15 to 4,
Sullins narrowly defeated the "Cavelets" by the score of 15 to 11 and 15 to 12.
Emory and Henry, by hustling and working as a team captured the first place trophy by defeating Sullins by a score of 15 to 12.
This was the first year the "Cavelets" had played an intercollegiate season in volleyball. The "Cavelets" played a steady game and have hopes of capturing the first place trophy next year to go along with the trophy they won this year.
