Taylor Fink enters her second season as assistant coach of the UVa-Wise volleyball program this fall after helping guide the Cavaliers to a 6-3 home record and an 8-8 Mountain East Conference mark in 2016. For the first time since 2005, the UVa-Wise volleyball team posted .500 record or better in conference play back-to-back seasons after the Cavs went 10-6 in the MEC during their 2015 campaign.

A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Fink came to the College in June of 2016 after serving as the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee.

A 2015 graduate of Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, Fink is a decorated former setter for the Lions. A three-time NAIA All-American, Fink served as an assistant coach for a pair of high school club teams during the winter months while in college. Fink was an assistant coach for the 16U C4 Explosive Volleyball Club in the winter of 2014-15 and held the same position for the 15U Ocoee Heat Volleyball Club in the winter of 2012-13.

Throughout her undergraduate years at Bryan, Fink served as a volleyball camp instructor and counselor to high school and middle schoolers during the summers.

Named 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Fink earned multiple accolades on the volleyball court all four years of her collegiate career. The setter was named to the AAC All-Freshman Team in 2011 before being named AAC Co-Setter of the Year in 2012 and AAC Setter of the Year in 2013. She earned First-Team All-AAC honors her sophomore through senior seasons, in addition to being named NAIA All-American honorable mention those years as well and claiming AVCA NAIA All-Northwest Region accolades in 2013.

Fink led the Lions to regular season championships from 2012-2014, not to mention AAC Tournament titles in 2012 and 2013, and was named to the AAC All-Tournament Team all four years. She was also a standout in the classroom, garnishing AAC All-Academic honors as a junior and senior.

Fink holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise and health science from Bryan, along with a K-12 teacher licensure. She currently resides in Wise.
