Women’s basketball senior guard Makenzie Cluesman has been named Female Cavalier of the Month for the month of January. From Jonesville, Virginia, Cluesman helped the women’s basketball team to a 7-3 record in the month of January. The team’s strong performance saw the program achieve its first D2SIDA Atlantic Regional ranking since making the transition to NCAA Division II as the team was ranked for three consecutive weeks.
 
The guard averaged 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game as she scored in double figures in all 10 contests. The former Lee High School standout recorded a double-double in a win over the University of Charleston when she scored 11 points and dished out a career-high 12 assists on Jan. 21. It was one of two double-doubles in the month for Cluesman who also recorded a double-double with her 15 points and 11 rebounds against Fairmont State University on Jan. 3.
 
In total, Cluesman made 30 3-pointers on 69 attempts while shooting 45.7 percent from the field. In Mountain East Conference games, the guard leads the league in 3-point field goal percentage at 45.2 percent.
