Jordan Lyles joined the staff as an associate athletic trainerin September 2026. She arrives in Wise after completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in August 2026 from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas.
Lyles earned her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2019 and she served as an athletic trainer for the Troy Independent School District in Troy, Texas through the 2022 academic year before joining the athletic training staff for the Copperas Cove Independent School District in Copperas Cove, Texas. During her time in these school districts, she provided athletic training coverage for a multitude of sports including, Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Powerlifting, Tennis, Golf, Track & Field, Softball, and Baseball; designed and implemented individualized exercise programs for injury prevention and rehabilitation; developed and implemented emergency action plans; taught sport medicine courses; and supervised athletic training student aides.
Since beginning Physical Therapy school, Lyles served as a volunteer athletic trainer for Justin Sports Medicine where she provides coverage for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association in events such as Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie-Down Roping, and Team Roping at Rodeo Austin.
Lyles is a BOC certified athletic trainer and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a certified BLS Instructor through the American Heart Association.
As a Physical Therapy Student, Lyles worked at Texas Physical Therapy Specialists – Avery Ranch and Ensign – Granite Mesa Health Care Center where she tailored her skills for individualized rehabilitation programs, comprehensive examination and referral, and collaboration with other health care professionals to provide the best patient care.
Director of Athletics, Kendall Rainey stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Jordan to our UVA Wise sports medicine team. Her broad experience and education particularly focused on preventative methods, education, and rehabilitation will be very beneficial for our student-athletes.”
At UVA Wise, Lyles will have primary sport coverage of baseball, cross country, and track and field.
