Jordan Blackburne

Jordan Blackburne was named the newest assistant coach for the UVA Wise women's lacrosse program in July 2023.

"We are very excited about Jordan joining our staff," Dennehy said. "She comes with great coaching and playing experience and an eagerness to learn, plus an incredible amount of passion for the game."

Blackburne comes to UVA Wise after a two-year stint at Division III Bethany College in Bethany, W.V. – one as a graduate assistant coach and one as a head coach. During her time with the Bison, Blackburne aided the team in 2022 to their best season in program history with seven wins. Additionally, Blackburne had seven players named to the all-President's Athletic Conference (PAC) team during her tenure, including a PAC Female Rookie of the Year and PAC Female Athlete of the Year.

Prior to her time at Bethany, the Indianapolis, Ind. native had multiple coaching stints with the Indy United Lacrosse Club, Elite Athlete Development, and Intrepid Lacrosse Club.

A 2021 graduate of Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., Blackburne was a four-year varsity letterwinner for the Quakers women's lacrosse program. As a goalie, Blackburne was a team captain from 2018 to 2021, earning herself two all-conference accolades and five conference Defensive Player of The Week awards in her career. Additionally, Blackburne found herself among the Top 50 National Division III women's lacrosse rankings three separate times in her career in save percentage, groundballs per game, and goals-against average.
