Taylor Miller is in her first season as an assistant coach with the women's basketball program. A native of Cincinnati, Miller comes to UVA Wise after spending the last four seasons at NCAA Division III member Edgewood College in Madison, Wisc.

A four-year letter winner at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, Miller played in all 102 games during her career as she served as the program’s team captain. An Ohio Athletic Conference All-Academic honoree, Miller graduated from Otterbein in 2017 with a degree in psychology.

“Taylor’s work ethic was the first thing that caught my attention during the interview process,” remarked Head Coach Jamie Cluesman.  “She is a tireless worker that believes in the vision we have created within our program and campus community.” 

Miller began her coaching career as an assistant at Westerville High School. In that role, she served as the head coach of the girl’s junior varsity team while also serving as an assistant to the varsity team.

In 2019, she moved to Edgewood where she served as a graduate assistant for two seasons. As a graduate assistant, Miller aided the program to a combined 36-8 record, a pair of league titles and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Last season, Miller served as an assistant with the program where she conducted individual and group workouts while assisting will all facets of the program.

Overall, Miller has coached a conference freshman of the year, a conference player of the year and a league defensive player of the year award winner.

“Her ability to cultivate meaningful relationships will be an enormous asset in the recruiting process, developing our players on and off the court and with our fan base,” added Cluesman. “ She has an infectious energy and passion for the game that will help take us to new heights.”

Miller obtained a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Edgewood. Miller and her husband Michael along with their dog Finn and cat Charlie reside in Wise.
