Alycia Gervais is entering her second season as an assistant coach at UVa-Wise. Gervais is a native of Windham, Connecticut.
Gervais assists with game prepartion, including film breakdown while also assisting in the program's recruiting efforts.
As a player, Gervais played at Daniel Webster College from 2008-2012. While at DWC, she earned New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Second Team. During her junior and senior years, she earned New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Team.
Gervais’ basketball career continued on the sidelines as she went on to get her master’s degree in sport management. From 2012 to 2014, she was the graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at Adelphi University. In her role at Adelphi University, Gervais assisted in pre-practice preparation, the recruitment of prospective student athletes, scouting, managing camps and clinics, promoting the team throughout the community, and was responsible for social media.
As an assistant coach, Gervais assisted the team in making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2004 and the USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 women’s basketball national poll. She also assisted the team in finishing second in NCAA Division II field-goal percentage, third in scoring offense and 13th in scoring margin.
Coach Gervais lives in Wise, Virginia.
