Alex Stam is in her second season as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at UVa-Wise. Stam works primarily with the teams guards and is heavily involved with recruiting, scouting and the day-to-day operations of the program.
A 3-point specialist at Millersville University, Stam was a four-year letter winner for the Marauders. She finished seventh in school history in 3-point field goal percentage while also being a two-time academic scholar.
Prior to coming to UVa-Wise, Stam worked as an assistant coach for the Chester County Wizards AAU program while also working the Mary Fleig Basketball camp while a student-athlete at Millersville.
An active member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association, Stam attended the Moving Up Conference at Duke University last summer.
A native of West Chester, Pa., Stam was twice named to Millersville’s Dean’s List while earning a bachelor of science in education with a concentration in social studies. The coach resides in Wise.
