Roger Whited begins his fourth campaign leading the men’s tennis team in fall 2021.

Whited’s squad picked up a nonconference win during the altered 2021 spring season. Whited also currently serves as a history teacher with Wise County Schools where he has been teaching for over 25 years.

A native of Kingsport, Tenn., Whited attended Appalachia High School in Appalachia, Va. where he played multiple sports before earning his degree in 1985. Whited continued his education at Clinch Valley College where he played tennis for four years prior to graduating from the College in 1989.

Whited formerly coached tennis for five years and basketball for 10 years at J.J. Kelly High School. Outside of teaching, Whited also officiates high school basketball with the Appalachian Officials Association.

Whited currently resides in Appalachia, Virginia.
